Here’s an easy recipe for making cannabis-laced butter which will have you cooking and baking in no time flat. Use cannabis butter as you would any other butter.
One of the most popular ways seniors ingest medical cannabis is through edibles and, if you can make cannabis butter, you can cook up just about any kind of cannabis-infused dish – from cookies to pancakes, even mac & cheese. Use cannabis butter as you would any other kind of butter.
You will need to decarboxylate the cannabis before the actual butter-making process can start. You can find easy step-by-step directions on how to do it here. Or check out the video below from www.thestonerscookbook.com
Once that’s done, it’s time to make the butter. You will need to purchase The Easy Butter Maker. This is a very simple device used to infuse THC from ground marijuana flowers into butter, coconut oil, olive oil or most any other cooking oil. It costs about $50 and it is available here.
The process is simple. In the 2 stick version, you add the equivalent of 2 stick of butter into the base unit. then you add some water to fill to just below the pressure valve. (Careful not to overfill as it is a serious fire hazard if you do.)
Then the marijuana tray is added and filled with ground marijuana flowers. Decarboxylate the marijuana first for better results and make sure not to fill above the fill line on the tray. Then the top portion of the Easy Butter Maker is screwed securely onto the bottom piece. Make sure it is snug and then place over med-low heat.
After a few minutes, the butter is transferred through heat pressure into the top portion of the unit. the infusion is then completed however we suggest running the butter through the device using the same marijuana at least 2 times to make sure you have a full extraction.
Then you can separate the oil and butter by pouring carefully or by cooling the liquid in a freezer for a few minutes until the butter solidifies. You then pour off the water by poking a hole through the butter and remove the hardened butter into a container of your choice. Or you can melt it into a mold or form it in a bowl.
After you have finished making the cannabis butter, you will be ready to use it as you would any other kind of butter, for baking, cooking or just to spread on toast. Yum!
